Hi Martyn,
Firstly thank you for all your work on the kits to date. They have been the most useful and instructive kits I’ve ever come across.
I saw that there is an upcoming 2024 Kickstarter campaign for new ESP32 based boards. I’d be very interested in tinkering with those and happy to pledge. Any idea when it will launch?
Cheers,
Joshua -

Hi Joshua,
Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot. Unfortunately, I have been struggling to find the motivation to finish the next 4 kits. The boards are 95% complete but the documentation is at 0% which is a daunting mountain to climb. Since the last Kickstarter, I’ve only been selling a kit every few months and as such I’ve had to get a teaching job to pay the bills. This is probably due in part to my marketing game being abysmal!
I will continue to work towards another Kickstarter, and I have a few things to try marketing-wise (converting the manuals to a series of web pages to help drive traffic for example). So, Hopefully, within the next few months, I’ll have some finished designs to show you and a Kickstarter should follow. When I have something concrete I will send out a mail to those on the mailing list and stick something on the homepage.
Thanks again for your interest in my work Joshua.
Kind regards,
Martyn

Hi Martyn,
That’s understandable that the documentation is daunting. It’s always a hill to climb and yours are particularly detailed – I originally learned about Short Circuits from an article commending their quality. Hopefully a new generation Kickstarter and kits can drive more interest in in SC. I think it’s a unique brand and product that has great potential.
I’m sure you’re already hard at work on marketing and building the business. However, if you ever want to discuss ideas I’d be happy to chat. I’m Dir. of Ops at a tech startup and have been in the startup space for years so I’ve got some perspective on building a new product and community. My handle on the Discord is Jbarbz if you want to reach out.
Best of luck with your work.
Cheers,
Joshua
